Course Requirements for Masters and PhD Students

PhD of Engineering and Masters of Engineering with Emphasis in Engineering Education Course Requirements

The Masters and PhD of Engineering with an emphasis in engineering education degrees are intended to provide students with the foundations necessary to pursue a thesis or dissertation in engineering education research.  These courses provide both the fundamental educational research core and a core in the emerging discipline of engineering education research.  The PhD of Engineering with an emphasis in engineering education requires a minimum of 36 credit hours (in addition to research hours).  The Masters of Engineering with an emphasis in engineering education requires a minimum of 16 credit hours (in addition to research hours).

PhD Course Requirements

Required Courses for all PhD Engineering Students (9 hours):

Required Courses for Engineering Education PhD Students (24 hours)

ENED 8XXX Engineering Education Issues 3
ENED 8XXX Engineering Education Research Methods 3
QUAL 8400 Qualitative Research Traditions 3
QUAL 8410 Designing Qualitative Research 3
*QUAL 8420 Analyzing Qualitative Data 3
Take one course from the following:

Masters Course Requirements
